“Chicago Trapper” AA/FC

Terry Joyce owned the “Chicago Trapper” Nitro Funny Car. It was extensively raced in NHRA, IHRA, and AHRA in the early 1990’s. Wyatt Radtke, Whit Bazemore and Paula Martin drove at various times. Kurtis Gorham, Johnny West, Larry Gould and Charlie Martin took turns tuning it.

Qualified at numerous National Meets and also Match Raced across the United States and Canada. Best NHRA qualifying was at the 1990 NHRA World Finals in Pomona, CA. Wyatt, Kurtis & Army Qualified No. 8 – (16 car show) – with a 5.45 @ 280 mph.

Running large percentages of Nitro, back then, could/did have negative affects. Car suffered through some fires, but Terry and Crew always bounced back – Never Say Die !!

Best run of 5.17 @ 292 mph in ¼ mile.

76 Camaro

Terry recently bought this, for himself to drive. Terry drove a UDRA Super Stock in the late Sixties. It will also be used as a test bed for product analysis, development and research. Terry is looking forward to being back on the track racing, instead of “watching”.

Powered by a 496 BBC, Powerglide equipped w/trans brake and it’s lite weight, should be a fun ride!

Tentative plan is to run at Chicago area tracks, such as Route 66, No Limit, Union Grove, Byron and Cordova.

Please stop by Pit and say Hello……..

Now, all We need, is time to go thru both cars, and get ready for track — Business before pleasure – Right ?
